Snowboarding

Posted by: in Uncategorized on February 1st

My family and I have been skiing for years.  We’re comfortable on skis.  We try the black diamonds, the bowls, etc.  However, Reeve, my nine year old son, convinced me to try snowboarding.  A father’s ego will not allow him to say, “No!”  So, I said, “no problem.”  Needless to say, I spent the day on the green slopes.  And, I spent a lot of time picking myself up.  But I figured it out and now I can say I have done it.

I like the idea of trying something different, something new and conquering it.  Not just in sports, in every area of life.

While on the slopes we saw a father trying to teach his 22 month old boy how to ski.  At first I thought that was cool.  And it was for the first few hundred yards.  But then they wiped out and the little boy was severely hurt … not so cool.

Maybe there should be balance in trying something new.
