NAYC13 Friday Day Sessions
The NAYC Friday morning events are all together a force to be reckoned with. There is much to be said for fluidity that only the anointing can bring.
The morning was started with a 9:30AM Jumpstart session filled with the most dedicated of souls. It’s a great way to start the morning, lots of upbeat music and crowd involvement, even a little bit of rap if you’re lucky. After the jolt, the energized young adults were sent off to their individually chosen spilt sessions.
Today there were four sessions to choose from, each of them offering a truth and relevancy to the attendees. Brandon Shanks spoke to the teens with the title “Boots on the Ground.” Nathaniel Rios spoke to the Youth Workers, Seth Simmons addressed the Hyphen Young Adults, and Jerald Staten wrapped things up with the Young Ministers.
In each of these sessions you will have heard a specific focused message and yet the same overall call, that it is time for us to step up and answer THE call. Bro Staten spoke passionately on the need to become vocal about the truth we have, stating, “We are the ones with barriers, the Holy Ghost has no limits!” He related the very importance of the mission with the theme of our conference, Gravity. The gravity of the situation, the urgency of the world–of our mission–cannot be ignored. Why are we silent when we are holding the very answers that could save a life? When we hold the very key that could save every single soul you come into contact with? When will we speak?
The General session began at 11:30 and opened with a fantastic time of worship and connection. Bro Maroney took the platform and began his powerful message of deliverance. Always full of passion, he quickly shook the stadium from their mid-morning complacency and connected to each once personally. The message is a message you’ve heard before, but this time felt different in a heavy manner. Bro Maroney spoke of the power of commitment, he shared his testimony and how because of his commitment to God and his firm belief in His word, he could claim “This is unacceptable” when obstacles came his way.
Mark 16:15-20 “These signs shall follow them that believe..” God’s words ring true across the stadium, no matter who you are or what you are struggling with. Whether it be sexual sins, addictions, perversion, your past, your future, your present, “When Jesus shows up, it doesn’t matter what is holding you, it can’t stay any longer.”
Chains are broken when Jesus enters the scene. He was there today in service and we know He will be there at our call.
The last day of North American Youth Congress 2013 has gotten off to a great start and we believe God will continue to work miraculously.
Stay tuned for the rest of today’s events!
